About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated business development leader with a strong track record of introducing industrial and automation technologies into established Australian sectors, such as mining, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, and event management. Robotics experience is welcome but not required, as long as you can operate confidently in that technical domain.
You will be the bridge between our technology and the stakeholders who need it most, helping us communicate and align our products and services with their needs.
In this role, you will:
- Engage directly with Australian industries, government bodies, and regulators to promote and drive the adoption of our robotics technology and software-defined training pipelines;
- Steer go-to-market methodology to ensure a viable and scalable product, as a member of our expert leadership team;
- Collaborate tightly with the software and hardware engineering teams;
- Organise private and public demos and field shows, including necessary safety approvals and logistics planning;
- Lead the standardisation of our products and services together with the technical teams;
- Negotiate with various third-party suppliers and external vendors.
Important: this position requires frequent travel across Australia and internationally. You will also be expected to balance your time across external stakeholders, prospective clients, and internal technical teams.
About you
Important: you are not a corporate career climber, or you do not want to be one anymore.
Instead, you challenge conventional approaches and playbooks from big consultancies and bring fresh ideas. You prioritise business outcomes and budgets over short-term personal gains. You are intellectually curious, strategically creative, and genuinely excited about building something from the ground up.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Strong ability to engage and communicate with Australian businesses, not-for-profit and community organisations, government bodies and regulators, external vendors, and third-party suppliers;
- A solid understanding of Australia’s innovation and commercialisation support landscape, across both public and private sectors;
- Strong ability to navigate uncertainty and communicate clear, actionable strategies;
- A self-starter attitude with strong analytical, creative, and planning skills;
- Strong ability to work autonomously as part of a small but highly technical and agile team;
- Fluency in one or more foreign languages.
Any of the following skills will be a strong advantage:
- Experience working with industrial automation or robotics technologies;
- Experience working with software or hardware development teams;
- Experience with SaaS/PaaS products and services;
- Experience with running and scaling distributed teams.
About our offer
We want to provide our most valuable asset, people, with a working environment that is both professionally and personally rewarding. We offer competitive compensation and a profit-sharing scheme to recognise your genuine contribution.
However, we are a startup and do not offer other corporate perks or packages.
We welcome people from diverse backgrounds, provided they bring exceptional capability, fit our team culture, and add to it in a fast startup environment.
While we are launching in Australia initially from Brisbane and Adelaide, we are also open to hybrid or remote working arrangements for talented candidates based anywhere in Australia, as long as they can be onsite for joint work with the software and hardware teams when needed.
